Henri Frans (Hans) Dijkstal (Port Said, Egypt, 28 February 1943 – Wassenaar, 9 May 2010) was a Dutch politician of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). Dijkstal was party leader of the VVD from 1998 to 2002 and was the lead candidate for the 2002 House of Representatives elections. He was a member of the House of Representatives from 1982 to 1994, Minister of the Interior and Deputy Prime Minister in the Kok I Cabinet from 1994 to 1998, and parliamentary group leader of the VVD in the House of Representatives from 1998 to 2002.Read more
