Overview
An inspirational story of survival and transformation, "White Shadows" chronicles the extraordinary life of Dalee Henderson, a famed celebrity hairstylist whose positive outlook and humor touched the lives of many. It is the story of a young man who struggles as a gay African-American while being raised in the rural, segregated South of the 1950s. Against all odds, he escapes to the West Coast to live life openly and proudly. He arrives in Los Angeles in the late '70s, where he achieved great professional and personal success working with the likes of Diana Ross, Denzel Washington, and Stevie Wonder, and amassing a wealth of friends by virtue of his gregarious nature.
