Dipanwit Dashmohapatra (born August 14, 1995, in Soro, Odisha) is an acclaimed Indian actor and theater artist who primarily works in the Odia film industry and digital web series. Born to Jyotsna and Jeetendra Dashmohapatra, he grew up in the Balasore district. He completed his early education at Ramakrishna Sikhshya Niketana and S.N. High School in Soro, followed by higher secondary studies at Upendranath College. Balancing his academic pursuits with his growing interest in the arts, he went on to graduate with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 2017 from ITER at Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University in Bhubaneswar. His passion for performing blossomed during his college years, leading him to actively participate in stage productions. He honed his acting craft by working with esteemed regional theatre groups such as Toneelstuk, Uttar Purush Theatre Group, and the Jeevan Rekha Theatre Group. His cinematic journey officially began in 2017 when acclaimed filmmaker Amartya Bhattacharyya discovered his potential during auditions, casting him in the role of a postman in the arthouse film Khyanikaa: The Lost Idea. The critically praised film was selected for the Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India, granting Dashmohapatra early and prestigious exposure. He further built his acting profile by collaborating on various music videos and web series, notably gaining traction with the project Rabana Podi. Dashmohapatra achieved significant critical and commercial breakthroughs in the early 2020s. In 2021, he received immense appreciation for his nuanced portrayal of Joe in the internationally awarded film Adieu Godard. He then skyrocketed to mainstream prominence in 2022 with his supporting role as a dedicated pharmacist in the blockbuster biographical drama DAMaN. That same year, he made his debut as a leading man in the poignant drama Pratikshya. His compelling performance earned him the Best Actor honor at the Odisha State Film Awards and international recognition, with the film itself winning the Best Story Feature Film Award at the Washington DC South Asia Film Festival.
